The Winged Horse in the Tuscon airport. They have a lot of great art. This was placed at the end of the moving walkway coming from the car rental area. Very dynamic location.
I love the detail of the wings also.

The Mormon Temples in Los Angeles. Its huge!
Detail from the fence in front. I love the shape of the fence.
My day today, A meeting to review the lessons learned from full size mock-ups of a hospital patient room. Here, discussion on the flooring.
After taking off from SFO in the morning we followed 280 south. Just south of Palo Alto I looked out the window and noticed this body of water nestled into the hills. It looks like a bird in flight.
There is an old church that is a part of a boys school/orphanage. It is really a cool place with great architecture. I was out there yesterday to take some scouting shots since we are having a family portrait taken there in two weeks. Here is one of two lion statues.
I hope to complete several things off of the list for the day.

There is a former air force base in my town which has been developed for housing. The old hanger have been developed for commercial uses. This is a photo of the reflection of the US Coast Guard hanger in the glazing of one of the converted hanger. I love the juxtaposition of the two buildings.
Houses in San Francisco. I love the color and the similarity of the facades.
San Francisco Color. I really like deep rich colors and appreciate them on San Francisco homes which so often are shrouded by fog.
Landing at SFO. The sky was really gorgeous.
The striping on the tarmac creates very interesting patterns.
We agreed to put Kona back on the herbs that he was on and increase his phenobarbital. He’ll go in for a blood test in a few weeks and if the increase in his phenobarbital doesn’t stabilize him then he’ll add another medication.
Let hope this works. We can increase his phenobarb a bit more. I worry about giving him too much medication, it sedates him. But I really hate his seizures.
Monterey Bay from the air. I had a really nice start to my travels today-a complimentary upgrade to first class and then a town car ride to the office versus a stinky sweaty cab ride. It was amazing how calm I felt when I walked in the door. It didn’t last long tho.
It may be early in the day, but I was able to get the photo of the day at 5:15 am since I was already up. This is “breaking dawn”. Kona, my dog, had another seizure at 4:00 am so my husband and I have been up ever since. There is a beautiful crescent moon with Venus to the right of it as dawn breaks.
Here is Kona, the very good dog that doesn’t deserve to have such a horible disorder.
I’ve narrowed down the date for the photo shoot (with the exception of my brother-I’ll call him tomorrow if I don’t hear back from him) We have 12 people to work around, 8 adults and 4 kids (whose schedules are tougher than the working adults). I sent emails to seven photographers today and have heard back from three of them. I really want to tie down a date in the next three days.
My sago palm is having new growth. This is a shot from above.
Here are the leaves as they started to unfurl.
Very interesting historical novel and current day fiction focused on the impact on polygamy
The Air Traffic Control Tower at LAX. I love the shadow through the shades in the terminal. With the sun behind it, its looks like a big robot.
Sunset clouds from the airplane, approaching SFO.
to be home from LA
that my plane was not delayed
to come home to my beautiful house, handsome husband, loving dog, and sleeping bird
that I have a job
for the health of my family
Three dishes on the Univision studio in LA
Self-Portrait II Feet in the Taxi-notice the reflection of the toes.
Sights of Tuscon. The first, a vine on a gate at an architect’s office. I love the colors and patterns.
The second, the iconic saguro cactus. I love them. They have personality.
Flag at the Toyota dealership in Tuscon, AZ. The clouds were magnificent around sunset and a storm was near.
Why that seems a long way off, with the ideas I have, its important to start planning now.
It should take about a week to get it. I have one for the first quarter (which was fabulous-if I say so myself :-) ) And now the second one. See the link for a preview. http://www.blurb.com/books/763401
The last entry in the Parade Series. There were several fly overs during the parade. This is the coast guard helicopter directly overhead.
These two are of aircraft flyovers (not sure where the jets came from). The first include the four jets, the second the dissolving of their contrails.
Next to last in the Parade Series. I live in an old horse town. There are several horse ranches surrounding it so we have a lot of horses in our parade. They are really beautiful. So here we have Horse Feet.
Next in the Parade Series. A local businessman has a huge collection of WWII vehicles from tanks to trucks to missle launchers. This is one of the tanks. I loved the little flag on the side.
There are also several men who dress in WWII GI gear that walk the parade route with the army vehicles.
Next in the 4th of July Parade series. Our hometown parade always includes a group representing Basset Hound rescue. There are probably over 100 basset hounds in the parade. This one had his own ride with lots of flags attached. It is just so fun to see them.
Since I have so many really great photos from yesterday’s parade, I’m going to give myself a break for a few days and post pictures from the parade. Those are my rules and I’m stickin’ to ‘em. I don’t know who this kid is, but he is just so darn cute all decked out for the 4th of July.
A wonderful 4th of July parade with all of my family
Getting lots of great photos of the parade
Meeting Tom’s bandmates at the cook-out
Hearing, for the first time, the band play (even if it was only a recording of a rehersal)
Listening to Tom play brings a smile to my face
Kona came out of his seizure quickly
Went to the 4th of July parade today and have tons of great pictures. I don’t think I can even pick the best and will include a link if someone feels so inclined to look at them. Kona goes to the parade every year (this is his 8th parade). The horses were going by and Kona didn’t quite know what to make of them. I think this photo captures the day today. Happy 4th everyone!
Caught this deer munching on the landscape. Now that the rain has stopped the deer have come down from the hills for food and water.
